Companies Law
Company and commercial law are an area of the law that it is virtually impossible for business law translators to avoid coming into contact with. Almost all of the texts and documents we are asked to translate deal with aspects of company law.
Not surpringly, then, it was while conducting background research for translations in other specialist areas that we first began to acquire expertise in the area of company law – while trying to understand liability clauses in contracts, or the structure of large companies, for instance. This was followed by translations which required us to examine this field of law in greater depth.
To solidify our knowledge of the specialist area, we have begun to pro-actively seek opportunities outside of specific translation projects – by attending lectures on the subject at Berlin’s Humboldt Universität, for instance.
We now possess extensive and ever-increasing experience of translating texts dealing with company and commercial law issues, ranging from excepts from commercial registers through to organisational documents for British limited companies and acquisition contracts.
